The countdown is on to AUSTimber2020, the biggest forestry show in Australasia, with the beginning of the Early Bird Sale for site exhibitors.

Adan Taylor, Chairman of the Australian Forest Contractors Association (AFCA), the membership based organisation that owns and runs AUSTimber, said the beginning of the early bird offer marks the initial countdown to the major event, before the official launch, slated to be in March 2018.

“This early bird period means that we are truly off and running with the planning of the event. By the launch next year, we hope to have most of the major exhibitors locked in and then the fun begins, planning the exciting activities that will be on offer throughout the event,” he said.

AUSTimber2020 will once again be held in Gippsland running from 30 March – 4 April. The week will see a range of activities being held in the region. Whilst the final program is still being developed it will include at least two expo days, field trips, a welcome dinner and an Australian Paper Mill Open Day.

As part of the Early Bird Sale, the AUSTimber2020 team have released the 2020 Exhibitors and Demonstration Prospectus which details the opportunities available, and a site plan which outlines the range of sites that are on offer. Importantly, it shows the early bird rates and savings available now until December 2017. The Prospectus is available to view by visiting

“AUSTimber2020 will build on the success of the 2016 event with the Expo being held all on the one site and catering for over 120 exhibitors. We are really looking to diversify and increase the mix of exhibitors to the show, and have added a range of sites that will reflect this move”.

“There are large sites available for both eucalyptus and pine harvesting demonstrations, a dedicated area for chipping demonstrations, a truck and trailer display with a test drive route and a mix of different size sites available across the event location, that are sure to attract a wide range of exhibitors.”

“I would like to extend my thanks to the team at HVP Plantations, for once again playing host to AUSTimber at their Flynn site in Gippsland. Their support, and the support of all our sponsors, exhibitors and the local councils and community, are what make the event such a success,” Mr Taylor said.

For those that exhibited at the show in 2016, they have until 15 November 2017 to secure the same site they had in 2016 for 2020, and for those who didn’t exhibit in 2016 they can submit an Expression of Interest form with site locations to be negotiated following 15 November 2017.  The Early Bird Sale closes 15 December 2017.

“We are looking forward to working with all our existing, as well as new exhibitors, to put together the type of show that forestry contracting businesses and the wider forestry industry absolutely must attend.  It should also deliver real value to both our Australian as well as our international visitors with a week of activities that showcases our industry”, Mr Taylor said.
